Very disappointing experience.
“ Very disappointing experience. The “face” sales people were friendly and helpful. The finance person was good. The two guys from the office (Sales Managers?) Charlie and Dino were dishonest, arrogant and insulting. If not fired, they should never talk to a customer. You can tell when a person is over their head when they use words like “stuff” and “things” to explain answers to questions. Charlie was full of excuses that didn’t connect. Lots of “used car salesman” phrases thrown around, but for example tried an amateur tactic to tell us the price was going to go up the next day, and that he was losing money; literally told us had $2500 more in it than the published price. I’m sure Purdy is either a charity, or not smart enough to price things to be profitable… Dino takes the award for being the worst service oriented person I have met in my life. After we paid, and were waiting for car to be brought around, we were told they didn’t have a second key to give us, but that we should come back the next day for a second key. When my wife and daughter returned the next afternoon, they were made to wait for a long time, then told they would have to pay for the second key. Dino came out with extreme attitude and drama. My wife simply stated that we were told we would have a second set of keys included in our purchase and were told to come back today. My daughter called her fiancée on her phone to listen to the conversation when he started becoming irrational and offensive. Dino literally pointed at my wife and told her to be quiet because he wasn’t talking to her, and he also said that she had a “Cruella D’Ville look” about her. He cut both wife and daughter off several times, was condescending, angry and rude. My daughter commented that she wasn’t sure she had seen a sexist attitude before, but was certain that was it. His parting shot was “Do not come back even if the receptionist calls you. We don’t want to see you here until I call you.” When I look at the Purdy Group website, it says they are service oriented. Charlie fit into what a used car salesman is characterized to be. Dino is a HR liability. FWIW, I am a VP of Sales for a multi-billion dollar company, so I have a decent understanding of business and sales. ”

“ bought an Ioniq 6 a few months ago. Had a couple recalls on it, nothing major. One of the recalls was specifically for the ICCU fuse. No biggie. Take it in for the recalls about a month after buying it, purdy hyundai tells me “yup we got the error on that fuse cleared.” About two months later, that fuse fails and kills the entire ICCU. Now after having it towed to Purdy on my own dime, they assure me they’ll take a look at it and figure it out. I ask if they’re supplying a rental or loaner, they say “ah yeah sorry fresh out of those and there’s 41 people on the wait list ahead of you, can’t help.” I call two days later about an ETA and get brushed off. I had to have my wife drive me to the place and drop me off. I ask if the car is a lemon , and SUDDENLY there’s a loaner available just for me and they’re getting it ready and it may be two weeks, because they need a special tool and nobody has the tool and they have to order this special tool and that could be weeks, but they’ll keep me updated. I received zero updates from anyone, and didn’t get any updates on what they were doing or what was wrong without calling and being left on hold until someone answered. Well after a month and a handful of days my car is finally fixed and ready to pick up today. All good everything fixed right? No. I see my car in the lot when I show up. It’s dirty, it’s covered in smudges, and there’s a big impact dent/bump on the bumper. I ask the guys “what’s up with the bump?” And they hmm and haw and take pictures and then tell me “Yeah my techs don’t recall seeing that, it must have been hit while we had it.” So now I’ve been assured that parts will be ordered for that and I may get a call when that’s ready to be fixed, as of 2 weeks from this conversation nothing, I’ve heard nothing at all. The whole thing has been an absolute fiasco end to end. From recall, the fully dead ICCU, to my car getting mysteriously hit somehow while it was at Purdy, never getting any update I didn’t call and badger for, and never being offered anything until I mentioned the word “lemon.” There are other dealers and mechanics in the area. my experience may be isolated, but this whole experience has sucked for me. ”

Which I understand it is a used vehicle, but the kicker is we never received the title when they said we would. We’re still actually waiting for the title and we’re going on two months. Then when we would call the front desk, the lady was very rude. Then it got where she wouldn’t even answer the phone when our numbers would come through on the caller ID, we got where we had to block our number. This dealership is the worse and the financing department does not explain everything thoroughly. After roughly a week of daily exchanges, Matthew had the audacity to say they will only discuss terms and figures in-person. All the time, pictures and providing private information, Matthew and Purdy Hyundai presented false intentions of working on a deal with, as stated in my first dialogue. Matthew Ogle and Purdy are the sleazy car salesman/dealership that give other car dealers a bad name. Do not support this business ”
